Enterprising responsibility

Messer is focused on the needs of business and people

“Enterprising responsibility” – for Messer this is far more than the theme of the 2008 annual report. We see it as a task and a challenge that we rise to every day. That is why Messer has defined concrete pillars of responsibility for itself: employee development; environmental and climate protection; education and training; and social responsibility.

Messer employees know and understand each other. This helps them to transcend boundaries, pool their skills and work as a team all over the world.

Messer offers processes that secure a competitive advantage for our customers. We place particular emphasis on the development and optimisation of technologies whose use will reduce our customers’ CO2e emissions.

As far as Messer is concerned, enterprising responsibility also means supporting young people – not just its own employees – in their career development. Examples of this are the award of the Adolf Messer Prize at Darmstadt University of Technology, and Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Hans Messer Prize for outstanding academic achievement.

The Dr. Hans Messer Social Foundation exercises responsibility entirely separately from gases and science – it supports people who find themselves in need through no fault of their own.
